The Open Run-In Shed.
An open run-in is the simplest way to give horses on pasture a place to get out of the weather. Three walls block wind, rain and sun, while the wide-open front lets them come and go freely — giving you the assurance that your animals always have the option to get protection from the elements.
Every run-in is built with the same equine-friendly construction as the rest of our horse barns: chew-resistant corrugated metal, 2×6 tongue & groove kickboards and screwed-and-lagged framing, all on portable 4×6 skids. Choose a Standard model with a flat front face, or a Deluxe with a roof overhang across the opening.

- What's the difference between Standard and Deluxe?
- The roofline. A Standard run-in has a flat front face, with the roof ending flush at the front. A Deluxe adds a roof overhang across the open front. Both come in all 11 sizes.
- What sizes do open run-ins come in?
- Eleven models from the 8×12 Mini (8 feet tall) to 12×30, in 8, 10 and 12-foot depths. Standard models start at $2,765 and Deluxe models at $3,215.
- Will my horses chew on it?
- The sides and roof are corrugated metal, which makes them chew resistant, and the lower walls are 2×6 tongue & groove kickboards built to stand up to everyday use.
- Can I move my run-in later?
- Yes. Every Apex horse barn sits on 4×6 skids with pull brackets in each corner, so it can be repositioned in your pasture or moved to a new property.
- How long does delivery take?
- Most in-stock horse barns can be delivered within 1–2 weeks of purchase. Custom orders typically take 4–6 weeks. Delivery is free within 100 miles of Irvington, Kentucky.
